Air Venture 2011: Ethanol Free Mogas -- An Alternative for Lower Powered Engines

Mr. Kent Misegades, engineer, pilot, aviation writer and sales representative for U-Fuel {an FBO fuel system supplier} has been advocating for an ethanol free fuel for quite some time.  It is known as MOGAS.  This is a fuel that would service the 70% of the fleet which does not require 100 octane fuel.  Previously available from virtually all refiners, it has all but disappeared due to the federal ethanol mandate.  Ethanol-doped fuels are not approved for use in most traditional aircraft engines.  Mr. Misegades offered a presentation at Air Venture 2011 which you can view or download by clicking hereIn addition, Mr. Misegades co-authors a blog at General Aviation News which addresses this topic.  Click here to be directed to the blog.
